Personally, in my earlier years, what I've done is ride around block multiple times to gauge reliability. So I'll pick 1-mile loop. Furthest I'll have to push it is 1/2-mile.

Nowadays I have trailer, so I'll do bigger loops like 5-miles and if I get stranded, I'll just jog 2.5-miles and get trailer to tow it back myself. Strangely enough, never had to do that after getting trailer! Kinda like having spares at track, guarantees that part will never fail.
it was running great but on the way home it started jerking when I got home I opened the gas tank it had no gas it was pretty dry.My gas light isn’t working now the only thing I did so far was change the fuel regulator and a get a new screw that held a bracket in.the screw wasn’t stainless steel it had a black coating. Is it possible that’s messing something with the grounds.

you've had it apart a lot - I would start by checking to see if the fuel gauge pickup on the tank is even plugged in still.

brown and black wire coming off your fuel pump - you do have a workshop manual for the bike don't you?

Awesome news!

Wires and switches are most vulnerable. Normal low-beam sends all power through start-button. This will eventually burn out contacts on starter-button and headlights won't turn back on after you release start-button. High-beam, has relay to switch power from fuse-A, so it should be fine.

Personally, I replace high-beam relay with 5-pin Bosch-type with NC/NO switching. So normal off-state of relay passes (30) power straight to low-beams (87a). Then high-beam switch flips relay and it connects power to high-beams (87).

i completely didn’t understand what you meant. Are led not safe? When I crank the bike the headlight turn off until I let go of the starter bottom. Also something crazy happen this week.I had the tire replaced. After riding about 3 miles I felt the backend move side to side I thought maybe it was a pothole I kept going.I felt it again and knew something wasn’t right I was on a road where there was no place to pull over.I took it easy until I could. As soon I got off I saw the Axel nut and chain tensioner where not there and the Axel had moved. This could have been bad.I got really lucky. Before riding off there was a Axel nut and tensioner.I think they didn’t torque it down or even tighten it.I will never go back there again.I ended up pushing it 2 miles to my uncles house.looks like I need a Axel nut and chain tensioner is it fine to get these parts used?
