I have a 2007 Honda cbr1000rr with 8k miles. While riding the bike turned off and wouldn’t start again. There was smoke coming out the exhaust nothing too bad but their was smoke coming out of it.There was a burning smell too. What could this be what should I start first.it never started after that.It starts sometimes but for a second or two.Any advice would be appreciated

white smoke, black smoke? Likely to be fairly fatal to the engine regardless though - check your oil and water - make sure neither got mixed with the other.

DO NOT run engine!!!
Do compression/leak-down test.

White smoke is coolant. Which isn't flammable like petrol, which is why engine does not run. Usually this means failed headgasket

how should I check the oil is still darkish golden doesn’t look like coolant in the oil.I am trying to do a compression test but can’t get the tester to thread the spark plug hole.I am usually a 10mm that is the right size right?

Wow, at 8k miles it must really have been thrashed (used for racing and then fitted back into donor bike?).
How long have you had the bike?
Hopefully it will be a split hose dumping coolant onto the exhaust or something similar, would not account for it not starting tho, but that could be something else.... fingers crossed.

I only had the bike for 3 weeks. It never smoked from the exhaust or anytning. This bike is clean it has never been dropped. It was turned into a show bike but it did sit for a couple of years before I got it.This really has me worried I have been saving up to buy a bike and this happened

Luckily engine stopped soon after coolant got in. So no damages:

- contaminated oil by coolant, causes main & rod-bearing damage
- washing oil off cylinders and causing severe scratching.

Can get 10mm adapter for compression-tester: https://www.innova.com/products/10mm-adapter-05-6208

While plugs are out, can test ignition system:
- leave coils connected to harness
- insert plug into coil
- ground case of plug to engine, chassis, or jumper-cable to batt-neg.
- crank, do you see spark jump @ plugs?

you are saying it’s must likely a blown head gasket?I did do that their was no spark I thought it was probably do to airbox stuff I unplugged and other wires
