split the scproject rep down

the original 2.5" perforated tube core

my quick solution to decreasing bore to 2". did also make a baffle with spiraled perf tube but bike didnt respond well. so it's still loud AF but its way less obnoxious!

back together. havent had much use out of it as the forks just wont take a seal... tried a bunch of brands and had crap luck, got some oem honda seals and they were perfect 1st try though.

sorted my temporary indicator resistor setup and made space for a wee tool kit.

traced an intermittent missfire issue down to the cdi plug again, so i've replaced the plug, had to order it from cycleterminals in the states as thheyre tricky to get a hold of now.

went out for a run with a friend who's long story short wound up with the trackslag i was building a few years back, fun seeing and riding modified and standard side by side. mine's is a completley different animal now but damn i love the standard'ish bike too, a true 90s gem. definetley need to get mines finessed a little though, every time i've ridden it this year i've needed to adjust, tighten or change something but that's part of the fun with these builds, carbs are tuned again to suit the exhaust, need to get the suspension setup again now the forks are olding a seal. but yeah what a fun machine, it's just a mental wee lightweight, flicky screamer.

well it's almost the end of the good weather riding season here and at least ive had the season out of the fighter but head gaskets went and failed. only leaking oil externally luckily, no mixed fluids or compression leak.

plan is to pull it apart over winter, inspect the head and cyl surfaces and take it from there. if i can get away with just cleaning and replacing the gasket, i will and i'll port the head whilst its off but if i need to get them resurfaced i'll be looking at doing a budget bigbore too as i might as well if i'm stripping the bottom end for machining. plans of doing some budget hotter cams when the budget allows too as i have the hrc cdi unit to make use of but one thing at a time. 637 big bore screamer would be a riot.

prior to suspecting headgasket was on it's way i may have picked up a jap import 92 blade stunt bike as it was too good an opportunity to miss but i've blown what money would've covered the f3 engine rebuild. got some daft ideas in the pipeline but yet to decide which way to go, in the meantime it'll be the caged, overgeared daft daily till it's proven to be a solid engine.

Default Front end replacement

Hey would you know if a 98 600rr front end is compatible with a 98 CBR f3?
