07 1K RR Tail On 929RR Anyone?
Ive seen it done once before but the guy used the entire 1krr rear end... didnt look quite right..... i had a extra 1krr tail and tail light laying around so i figured ide see what the swap entails.... here is just a mock up... but i think it would look really good....
im going to paint this tail to match the stock one... and get LJ to make me some decals that match the black factory tail decals... i think it should look sharp
beleive it or not the subframe actually requires minimal to no modification to use the 1krr tail and use the stock mounting locations...

im thinking about doing the same thing to my 929 also. !IMO! it doesnt look right. the way you have it mocked up it looks like the seat/rear end is too flat/low. like the tail is level with the seat. there's nothing to keep you from sliding off the back if you just stab into it. ive seen it done before and it looked more like it should, it was raised up. but i think he used the 1000 subframe made custom brackets to accomplish this. i saw a post on fireblades.org (i dunno if im allowed to name-drop) some guy did a write up on it, but he deff used the sub frame.
i was thinking about doing this to my 929 as well. i dont think the way you have it mocked up looks right though. it looks too flat, like you would slide right off the back if you stabbed into it. i have seen it done before on 2 different occasions. both used the 1000 subframe. but one guy made custom brackets to get the angle of the tail right. the other didnt and it angled up too high. like those god aweful european streetfighters.
