Hey! Put up a thread in the "other bikes" section for your 1100.... I've joined the oil boiler ranks. I would love to see pics and work you do to that gixxer.

As for the 600, it doesn't seem like too much past the Subframe and battery tray. Once you find a guy to do it, it'll start to go quick.

you're not wrong about the 6, a weekends work and it would be set and ready to work out any ****les that appear.

hmm i might just was playing with the idea of documenting it on one of the gsxr forums, can't say i like any of their communities though, not sure why.

in all honesty i don't have much planned for the 11 watermelon, just to keep it tidy and improve on it. id love to retrofit a set of slabby 750 yoshi race fairings with a decent 1 piece race tail but... its far too good to mess with reading up on swingarm angle and geometry is absolutely brutal to get our head round, the braced 750ws unit is 60mm shorter after all which is a pretty radical change.

ohh slabby or slingy and 750 or the 1127? for a lot of people the 1127 is the only bike that ever counted.

i have a question for you about the front wheel axle on your 954. i was flicking back through this thread and stumbled upon this -

the axle protrudes on the left hand side and to me that just seems out of place, can't find any pics online to compare it to but I'm thinking maybe I've wound up putting the spacers round the wrong way or maybe it does just sit like that. could explain why i was getting bit of binding on the brakes.

had the back tyre changed but the dude forgot to balance the wheel so its away back to him so i can't really get in about the front wheel for the time being.

No that's right I think. The reason is that the axle and wheel bearings can't bind from over torquing the axle nut. The axle self-centers around the wheel spacers, but some of it will hang out.

Just make sure the pinch bolts are loose when you tighten the axle but. The spacer with the lip goes by the axle but side, the flat spacer goes by the side pictured.

Check with another 954'er, but I can see what looks like a similar protussion on Google with a bunch of 954s, just searching for 954 pics.

It looks lime it sticks out there, doesn't it?

yeeeaaahhh? seems weird to look at. id hunted around looking at pics and its pretty hard to tell without a decent closeup, some look flush and some look like they protrude, some even look like they protrude by miles haha i'll fire a question up in the appropriate section here for a second opinion but yours is noted, thanks.

on the brake front, I've not been at it but although i couldn't replace 3 sets of seals before, i did machine polish the pistons and clean up in behind all the seals so there shouldn't be a reason for the pistons themselves to be sticky.

when the wheel was painted i removed all the paint from the disc mounting faces so there shouldn't be an issue there. it kind of boils down to the disc/s being bent/warped or a misalignment of the forks and wheel. i can get ahold of a tool to measure for warping so thats a bonus, i just hope thats not the case but saying that at least the issue wouldn't be any deeper.

Hey, look at that other thread.

Fat part of axle + its small wheel spacer = spacer with lip + fork leg width (of the side you pictured) for it to sit flush.

If those measurements don't match, some hangs out.

well the back disk might need a spot of replacing. feeling' groovy.

[/url]

tasty tasty tasty, back on.

ohhhhh so sticky and awesome xD thats a matching set of 4's both basically new at the same time which is unusual for me anyway.

note... when pushing the brake piston back in the top is likely to pop off the reservoir tube with this kind of setup hahaha took me an age to find it.

had the bike up on stands today to flip around the front wheel spacers and see if i could get the spindle sitting flush but no luck on that front and with little time i had to go work on the 11 instead. have to get to it another day, no loss, at least I've ruled something out.

couple of pics of it sitting pretty up on stands though

well finally back on the road as of yesterday! =D =D =D

may have picked an absolute steal up as well.

top yoke, regular 7/8 clamps, 28mm father clamps, risers, braided lines, 929 clutch cable (not sure if it will be any use to me though) all far very very little, doesn't even look like its been test fitted to a bike. brake lines are a bit red for my liking but if it doesn't suit then i'll sleeve over them.

absolute bargain, well pleased! only thing i can fault is that its slightly heavier than i had anticipated but its really not a problem.
