growing old disgracefully and loving it
bought my my baby a new pair of designer boots courtesy of mr michelin(pilot road 2`s),new chain and sprockets, oil and fiter change, while fitting noticed front wheel bearing play so got her a new pair of bearings ,noticed that most usa kits come complete with dust seals but here in uk everyone stocks the bearings but dust seals are most often main dealer item, firm believer if you going to do it do it right !
Anyway after getting her sorted,we went for a spin down to local bike shop for a coffee and a gossip with all the other old farts having a mid life crisis and a blast up the motorway( or freeway as some of you guys might call it ) to a local bay, smoked a few kids in their sports cars while chuckling insanely to myself, yes ,this is what growing old disgracefully is all about !!! I LOVE IT !!
Think i need a little more weight on the back end though ,a nice little petite scandinavian blonde would be just about right

Installed a new battery.
The old one showed 12.5V out of the bike and it was able to run some lights I had in the garage but in the bike it was dead. I still don't understand how it could be fully charged out of the bike but totally dead in the bike unless one of the post was disconnecting when I tightened the cables down.

Finally took the plunge and bought a set of Maxxis tyres the other day, fitted the rear this afternoon after a morning ride.
A fair amount of grunting and sweating to get the old one off and the new one fitted, thought I'd tackle the rear first, so hopefully the front will seem like a doddle tomorrow.
These tyres are cheap £145 delivered so I thought I'd try them out, I'll keep you guys updated.

Transformation
I completed my first home carbie synch today. After a little obstacles with other issues like brittle fuel line and discovering my "off" on the petrol **** don't work, i finally did it. was very trickyat first, used gauges and hoses, and very light screw driver and balanced all carbs to carb no 3, had to also adjust idle whilst synching cause the carbs where so out it was being masked by the idle, the end result was so much worth it. took her for a ride this afternoon and it was so smooth down low and so much more responsive and smoother accelerating through gears, the bike also remained heaps cooler. Its like a new lease of life for the ol girl. sooo happy.~~
highly recommend it! older hondas if you've never done it you really need to try..the engine is quieter too. awesome
