Thumbs up Mass of bikes at cafe

Had a short run to my local bike cafe today, thinking it would be busy but didn't envisage what I saw....more photos in my album - must be over 100 bikes!

Fair play to Loomies cafe staff who served everybody quickly and with a smile

Well yesterday I was tracking down a small oil leak on my bike, and ended up finding that it was my stator cover that was leaking. So me wanting to figure out why she was leaking from there, I started to dig in, turned out that the PO did a quote un quote easy fix.

They broke a bolt off on the top of the stator cover, and one of the sides where the botom bolt goes through, and repaired with some kind of JB weld.

Now doing this they only put two bolts back on the bike. Now that this was not set correctly on the bike, it ended up seizing the bearing to the inside of the cover(was still able to spin freely, but would not come out). I used a hammer and a block of wood and tapped and pulled till the cover came off. Now all I am left with is a bike on it's center stand and a busted stator cover, and alternator.

So I spent my day trying to track down a new alt/stator. And I may be able to get one from a local cycle salvage yard for 125. if they have one in the warehouse. Or I can get one from a guy out in TX, even fouf one in Italy on flebay. So now we play the waiting game, and hope I can get it cheaper and faster first.

today cleaned up the radiator.

yesterday pulled the head off it and found the cause of the poor compression (which is why I bought her cheap).

Bent cam follower plate and knackered valve collets.

Went 2 up with luggage to the CBRF-UK meet for the weekend!

Brilliant weekend

Only 458 miles but only 50 on motorways, the rest was A & B roads.

Cheers guys!

Saw na ad on her with a pretty good deal and I just wanted it. So now I have 2 Hurricanes. - for now at least, The old girl has to go, so today i made pictures and put up an ad with her
Some pictures with "sisters" 2xcbr album | Kapa | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy.

Wow very nice Kaska .... yep very select club owns two of them lol
Anyhow , yeah if it was not so cheap to keep two here in the US & if I was
back in Europe .......it'd be tough and expensive keeping two.
I find having the second one is great backup when I'm working on the other tho'.

BTW great to see ya back man.
