Very nice, Mike!
I'm riding an '09 KLR650.
I just put "real" handguards on her a few weeks ago, and motech crash bars.
Here she is!

Nice KLR Kilegore! Lots of them in my local club ... the KLR guys will occasionally get together and have "doohickey" parties. I've never attended one of them, but it might be something worth checking out; some sort of mod all the KLR owners do to rectify some design flaw.

I've got the highest rise bars I could find on my DRZ, Pro Taper ATV-Hi's (I'm 6 foot tall), moose brush guards, skid, rad guards, cases savers, etc. Can't protect these tough little buggers enough if you plan to romp through the woods on 'em. My air box is opened up, my carb re-jetted and I'm geared low for tighter trails ... your KLR would walk away from me!

CBR content - I did nothing to her today but I did daydream about her. I've yet to find time to get her safety inspected ... tomorrow for sure! It's been a late blooming summer here but it's nice now!

Thanks, sprock. Sorry, no tin cans...lol...

Mike, I plan on doing some more mods, but stuff gets expensive (as you know, I'm sure.. you've got quite a few good ones).
Bars are probably next. I've been wanting the Pro-Tapers, too. Great bars. I'm sure I'll snap these stock ones on the first good spill... they pretty much suck. Pro-Tapers are great bars.
The "doohickey" is definately one of the worst design flaws in the KLRs. It's the adjuster for the balancer. Dam spring goes slack and can come off in the motor. Bad news. There is a guy who sells an excellent aftermarket one, though.

Now back to the regularly scheduled programming.... the 'Cane. I've been doing the same, sprock. Runnin' her hard. Burning up these soft tires, practicing in the twisties.... I'm gonna change the oil tomorrow.
