I got them done and installed today. The air temp wasn't cold but unless it's my imagination (placebo effect) it did seem to start better. I didn't get to warm it up completely because it started pouring rain and I don't have a garage.

So weather permitting, supposed to be cold all week, I may get to try out the cold start benifit.

^Nice job and I firmly believe they do start better. The idle is a no brainer, they idle much smoother.

I used the 'tip toe' washers Sprock recommended from Ace Hardware. They're a perfect fit. I sealed them on with some black silicone.
I may still cut the original ones off my stock coils because the washers don't seal complete.
I have to drive a little way in gravel and I get little pebbles on top of the head cover.
I'd hate for one if those to fall down I'm my plug hole!!

The way I did mine works great to keep debris out of the wells but not the most sophisticated by any means. Perhaps some silicone between the parts would work even better but I saw no need at the time. They hold the sticks dead solid in the center of the wells. I don't get any movement of the sticks and that's why I don't plan on changing them.

Sprock also had a part# for a Ford PCV seal but I don't remember a photo showing them installed.

Well then I guess I was remiss - well if it warms up sometime soon I'll head out and snap
a pic of the Ford PCV rubbers on the 93 and get the part number I know I bought more
than one set - std operating procedure

Nice job with the stick coils there Steve - it's a great upgrade

I'm looking into this mod now, from what I've read the newest cbr1000 coils I can get are best and I need a loom. I assume the loom is like this piece?
04-05 Coil Wire Harness
There is no particular year for the loom? I could do an '04 loom w/ '08 coils for example?

As long as the plugs on the loom suit the coils all is good. I cut my loom up and ONLY used the plugs anyway.

Good luck with the mod.

Cheers, SB
