Oh so you're more focused on the fate of the person that made the statement than his actual rhetoric?
Were you riding in the Patagonia region/during a tornado or something?
i hate wind. i've been pushed off the rode into the ditch on my first 250. was a scary experience. thankfully i was wearing a helmet. i had the bike leaned as far sideways without knee draging and it still got me.

OK, if you want to debate this back and forth, if the guy ends up getting killed then I believe that takes priority over anything he may have said.

Steering into and leaning into the wind are totally valid points in extremely
blustery weather where the wind whips around from several directions. Tucking
down will not always be an option if touring with a tank bag or two up.
Ignoring the wind will put you in front of an 18 wheeler quick enough if that is
what your ambition is.
Personally Rain or Wind - makes no difference to me either way they both require
a change in riding style for the given conditions
Extreme wind can be fun you can almost get a knee down in a straight line
So you could say I hear Jeff on a good bit of this - seems like we've been there.
But I'd probably make a lousy pilot Mike ...... lol

Wind sucks... I was riding down a two lane highway a couple of years ago on my Katana 600. Just cruising at 55mph with my left hand rested on the tank, well here comes a logging truck. Headed straight in my direction... So I didn't think anything of it, until that gust of wind hit me. It pushed me from the middle of the lane to the yellow line. I grabbed the handlebars and fought the bike.
Had to pull over and check my drawers... so now that I'm experienced its not so bad. But it still catches me off guard from time to time. Rain sucks too though.

Rain is not a problem unless an oily patch is involved, that said you should be ready for that.
Wind can catch you off guard but have only had an issue with it when I've "tighten up" and over corrected cause of it.
Believe in the gyro effects of you're bike's wheels in motion.

I live in San Diego, so rain is really not a problem for us. Windy conditions always make me nervous especially on the freeway driving near big trucks and semi's. I got caught in a down pour before and it wasnt that bad. The worst thing was getting soaked all the way to my boxers and having a soggy helmet.
