Unless...it was like Eliza Dushku.

That girl can do whatever she wants as far as I'm concerned.

The only time people know I'm carrying is when
  • I have to tell them: required by law, they have a need to know (on friends / fam property)
  • I make a mistake: shirt rides up, jacket flaps open
  • They make a mistake

Some states have "Stand your ground" or "No retreat" rulings, where you're not required to seek a way to retreat. And some states, property does fall under self-defense laws (be very careful in Utah).

That said, my bike wouldn't be the reason for the use of a weapon (gun, bat, knife, chain). What the person does when confronted would be. If a person advances on you when they were warned from 10' away to get off your property, it can be interpreted as a threat to you.

Some of you who are advocating violent acts if you find someone sitting on your pride and joy uninvited might first encourage them to get off and get away from it before knocking them to the ground or your bike might go down with them.

Nah, nice healthy uppercut to the jaw lifts them straight up and off the bike, mid-air follow up to divert direction away from said bike on the trip down.....hehehe.

And unfortunately there is a countless number of people that DO think it's okay to just hop on a total stranger's bike.
