Search CL for an old used oven. (should be able to find for under $100 - I found a few in my area for under $50)

Piece together your own PC kit (should be able to do it for $100-$175)

And do it yourself! You can experiment with different colors, you can do all kinds of parts so long as they'll fit in the oven.

Yeah I looked around before to do it myself, but after the cost of everything and the fact that I will probably only do it one time I decided not to do it. I found a starter kit for around $70 including the powder and then I would need an oven. I had a decent sized toaster oven but my wife gave it to the neighbors. If I still had the toaster oven I would probably go that route. I am just going to paint the calipers, case covers, and upper and lower tree in low gloss black. I am going to have my rear sets, flywheel, rear spring, kick stand, and a few other misc. parts PC'd for around $50 since I already did the prep work to get the parts ready.

I hate the last few parts of a build where you forget about all these things you need like oil, filter, coolant, brake fluid, and all the extra little things. It really starts to add up and then you are thinking that your build will need to be pushed back a couple more weeks. This is where I am at trying to figure all the last bits I need to get.

Same thing I ended up grabbing kawisaki coolant since it was the only motorcycle brand that wasn premixed.

And if you struggle with organization like I do, you'll still find something your missing in a week.

No problem guys I am getting ready to start a new thread anyways.

Update

I finished painting the case covers, calipers, and lower front forks. I should be receiving my parts order today or tomorrow. They just told me some of the parts are back ordered with no eta. I don't know which parts yet I am going over on my lunch break. They want my vin # so they can do a critical order so I will be one of the first in line to get the parts. Depending on what parts it is I may just search eBay and see if I can get them quicker for now. The new painted parts turned out awesome and I will get pics up soon. I will also update what parts are on back order after I do over there around 4 today.

So went to Honda and there are 4 parts and I will get 2 of them by the end of next week and the other 2 have no eta. The 2 are the heat guard that goes over the engine and the other is a rear brake hose clamp that works with the rear fender. So nothing really big that I can not live without. I have to give them my vin # so they can put me on a list to get the part as a top priority. I could order these parts off eBay but I would much rather wait for the new ones to come in. Plus I can still ride until they get here or they may be here before I am done.

I have also been thinking about painting over top of my bed liner. The low gloss black looks almost identical to what the newer model CBR's are coated with from the factory and my bed liner is a little darker than the low gloss black I painted everything else with.

When you start getting things into the frame, post some pics, I'm curious to see how that bed liner looks against some of the other parts

OR

Are you going to go ahead and paint over it now while its still all separated?

I have the upper and lower triple tree on now. I will post some pics tomorrow and if I do paint it I will do it while it is all apart.
