Frame is painted and done, working on the sub frame now and then going to do the swing arm. I am using rust-oleum bed liner on the frame, sub frame, swing arm, and lower bracket and so far they have come out really nicely. $20 worth of paint versus $200 in PC'ing. These parts will be PC'd over the winter but just don't have the funds right now. Plus, several parts have shipped and my OEM Honda parts order should be here sometime next week. I have already received my valve guides and I just need to finish lapping the valves in and then have the head resurfaced and cleaned, then I can reassemble and it can go back on the bike once the new head gasket is received. I will post pictures sometime this week.

I pretty much followed your steps. I stripped the paint off with some aircraft grade paint stripper. But I ended up not priming it and just went over it with a scotch brite pad on my die grinder. That gave it plenty for the paint to stick to. The frame and sub frame have become one again for the first time in a 1 1/2 years. You can see some imperfections in the frame in the pics. Not much I can do about it I believe it is from the casting process or the dumbass previous owner.

Digging it bro! I had some gouges in mine too from God knows where. When I used the 3m stripping pad it smoothed out a lot of it but I'm sure your bike will look great when its done.

Well it took all day but I got the old PC removed from the swing arm and back down to bare metal. Crappy thing is now I know why it was PC'd, it has tons of small scrapes and dings in the metal. You could not see this with it PC'd. Hopefully the bed liner will cover it up enough for now. I am painting it tomorrow after I get off work. I received my driven block off plates, and manual tensioner so far. Well I also received a few extra things but they are surprises for the build thread, which will be coming really soon. I should get my OEM Honda part order later this week or early next week and then it all goes back together.

By the way did I mention that I am pretty much replacing every single nut and bolt on this bike.

Do Work! Grab a cup of coffee (or a cold one) and get to it. It'll be worth it in the end.

I really want to know what that swinger looks like with bed-liner, take some pics! The rest looks GREAT so far. I kind of want to do the same thing. The only thing I'm wondering about is the motor-mount-bracket-thing that sits practically on the motor. Do you think the bed-liner will hold up to the heat? I imagine it will. It's black paint that is meant to sit in the sunshine on the bed of a truck, so it's not like it's weak, but I am curious.

Are there any temperature ratings on the can? I couldn't really find anything definite online.

No temperature rating on the can. I painted the bottom half but I have a run in the paint on the side so I am going to let it cure overnight and then sand out the run and paint the top tomorrow. I am using a whole can on just the swing arm so it will have extra protection. I still need to finish painting the calipers and case covers. I have already put a 2000 degree coat of paint on these parts and I am going to follow that up with some low gloss black. It should match the bed linered parts perfectly.

That's what I love about this stuff. Uneven? Just sand 'er down a bit and go back over it. It makes it easy to work with for sure.

That will give a cool contrast. Can't wait to see pictures!
