ok so ill give a review of so far. do I like it? h3ll YES !!!!!!!!!! would I do it again? yeaaaaaa. would I recommend it? depends on the person. the bottom end loss is alittle more than I really wanted butt anything above 5500-6000 rpms is absolutely beastly. the more we tune it the bottom end does get better. im also going to try just +1 in the rear. im sure ill change things around a million times till I feel perfect but that's just the way it goes. im only 160 lbs so keeping the front end down in first and second truly is a challenge , but ill never extend it. today I was out and literally shifted into second on one wheel. talk about crazy....... The halos that we did were more of a spur of the moment thing. they really are cool but I need to redo them. I think the new design will look really good with the paint job though. Next im planning on getting a set of BST Carbon fiber rims. supossably some of the best out there. and cheaper than magnesium and aluminum. Before those though I have to get a sigma slipper clutch in it. we kept the stock clutch basket. it was a close call wether it was gonna be ok. its worn and making some pretty loud sounds while the bike is warming up. but if you hold in the clutch until about 120 degrees its goes away. after that theres. no problems. by the time I get a new one there wont be any damage done (about a month). next winter its just gonna get small touches to it compared to what ive done so far. everything is going to get blacked out that is silver. new mirrors shift kit etc. I wanna get the riding itch to go away for alittle while. I mean that's why we do this isn't it? if you guys wanna see any pics or have anyyyyy question let it fly. im sure I missed a million things haha

sweet, that's pretty good on motor only.... if you do get another 10, that's pretty damn good numbers! i'm glad you like it, waiting for the bike to get up to 120 with the high compression probably doesn't take long.

where are you located? and what's the weather like? i'm kind of worried about cooling... have you experienced any problems like that yet? have you ridden in slower traffic? that's where i think i could run into problems....

well to be honest this was a hugggggggge worry for me too. at first we had coolant lines leaking everywhere after tightening and tightening we pulled some out and no more leaking. the added compression makes for more pressure. it runs right at about 180 in 90 degree weather maybe 185 if im not getting some good wind. I have riden into traffic multiple times already and ive seen her get up to 215 220 ... pretty high but the fan kicks on and makes it go back down . plus I don't stay in traffic very long. I might buy an oli cooler for 200$ that I found from a racing company in Europe. itll need to be custom fit but im fine with that. but I don't think its to the point its really damaging the engine. proper oil and coolant levels along with proper maintenance should prevent it. im running regular oil for the first 5 k miles then im gonna switch to synthetic to help it too. yea they are amazing numbers considering the fastest 954 ever made was only about 15 higher than that. people claim higher.... one guy said he made 196 to the wheel but I saw no proof when I asked.... to be honest anybody who does that is gonna be damn proud and keep that stuff to show off.... has anyone already done a build like this and have a custom tune ? id love to see what their map looks like !!!!!! the weather lately has been perfect right in the 80s so its perfect with a light jacket and protection. what would you say is to high ?

sorry I rambled

I have read many threads about cooling for our bikes and whether or not a fan switch does any good. I mostly drag race now and my bike would get hot on the return road. If the runs were too close together the fan would come on while staging which does not make the best power.

I decided to install a fan switch to find out for myself so I purchased a kit from xsboostperformance.com on ebay. Their kits are a little pricey but are very nice setup with mounting bracket for the triple tree and are easy to install. It works so much better than I ever expected. With the fan switch on I have yet to see temps above 185 even after doing a burnout and getting ready to stage. My fastest run this year I left the fan running instead of turning it off just before staging.

btw don't know if anyone noticed but that exhaust is the one from ebay. still might change it but after some welding and working its very deep sounding and works well

What performance mods is that dyno sheet missing? Do you have anything ellse then exhaust?
And do you have a dyno run whit all performance mods?

i have a fan switch, and i'm a huge proponent of them, because like you, i know they work. in SWFL, you have to have it IMO.

but im worried about the compression ratio. that should make it run substantially hotter (13.5:1). and i do unfortunately run into traffic. however, i'm moving - so all of those concerns may go away... less traffic and a bit further north so we'll see

what material is the radiator made out of? aluminum right? i might buy a junk'ed radiator, get the tabs off for the fan, weld/braze the brackets onto my radiator to have 2 fans... just an idea

can i get a link? i'm trying to build one as well, but the bolt that holds on our oil cooler seems to be about an inch too long for most oil cooler sandwich adapters....

because i was thinking i'd just make one to work similar to all of the gixxers (oil cooler hangs below radiator).

i also saw one on an erion motor that was for sale on ebay once. it had a sandwich adapter and ran lines up to the oil cooler that sat behind the radiator. pics aren't up anymore

i know it can be done. i want to do it to

and all i do is rant on this forum. that's why we're all here
