Got a little work done today. Hit little snags here and there but thats life. First off adjusted my throttle cables finally. That wasn't as bad as I thought. Removing the top of the airbox def. makes it easier.

Tires will be in tomorrow so I wanted to go ahead and take the wheels off..... no luck. Left the socket for the rear at work so figured I'd go ahead and break the caliper bolts loose. For those that havent done this before, the hex head bolts are hidden behind these flat head covers

Be careful taking them out or you could strip them. I started to strip one on the right side, the last one of course, and decided I'd had enough today.
After getting the covers off surprise surprise, leaking caliper

No worries though. Was planning on rebuilding the calipers anyway. Besides gives me an explanation for spending money
And heres my old chain..... aint it purty?

Most of my time was spent playing around with the tail, getting the height right, seeing what I had to modify, what could stay. rerunning wires, etc.

Managed to clean up some. I have to figure out where to put the cdi and rr. the tail jut doesn't want to slide down around it like I want. If I flip it directly opposite the stock location, think I'd have problems? I'm thinking it will still have the stockish airflow..... I don't wnat them to overheat. Any ideas? I need some input before I cut and solder my wires which are too long anyway. Leaving it here I would have to figure out how to slide it in from the top.

Sometime this week I will be changing fork seals... fun stuff... until later...

Nice progress man. I havent had time to work on my bike or update my thread. I will start working on her tomorrow though.

In regards to your tail fitment, you will have to make a bracket for your front seat, that will kind of lay on top of the subframe, which is the one I welded in. Thats where I mounted my rectifier, and my cdi I just undid the the factory harness and put it in my battery box, haven't had any problems.

I aprreciate it. My cdi is laying in the battery box atm. Now that I know it won't over heat, I feel better about moving it. Course it does get hot down here....

I agree on form following function. Once I get it out of the way and functional, I can worry about making it look nice

Thats what gets me the most. My knowing its there. On another note, my tires came yesterday, so I pulled the country move, supported the bike with a jack stand, brick and um, a pot took the wheels off, and the forks. Gonna replace the fork seals and pull my swing arm to clean and grease it. Axles were damn near dry, with a good amount of sand stuck to em. I'll snap some pics when I get back home tonight.

Only managed pics of my country bike stand. I know, I know. Don't have the stands and , well , I'm too impatient to wait to buy some. Besides, she hasn't asked about the pot for about two weeks which in my book means its extra

Well, I'm off tomorrow so I'll probably take the swingarm off to clean and grease it. Also start on my fork seals.

I like riding too, but the parts will be in this week. Seals will be here today. Tires are mounted so then it will just be mad rush to get it back together. I'll probably throw the stock fairing stay and headlight on just to ride it until I get the parts for the rr fairing. The stay is here but man those headlights arent cheap lol. If I could sell some of my parts, I'd be able to order what I need. But until then, its tear down, rebuild, tear down, rebuild. Ugh. With the fork seals in today, the front will be completed mechanically. The rear, well, depends how long it takes me to actually get the suspension in line.
