Pulled some stickers of my "other" new found 1000F .........guess what one was covering
yup a nice 3 inch crack....... not bad though seems at some point the sidestand went
through the hot-top / tarmac and she keeled over and cracked the left fairing ! Oh well
one of a few more discoveries I suspect.... she purrs and rides like a champ tho'

Just got back from a 2 day 600 mile trip up to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. What a blast! One of my buddies that had the camera is staying another day so pics will be coming soon.
We rode to the top of Mount Washington. At the time the top temp was 54 degrees with 41 mph winds. The base temp was 91 degrees. On the way up I found out my fan **** the bed when the temp gauge spiked and I started spewing anti-freeze. I let her cool for a bit topped her off with some water and made it to the top.
Now that i'm back home I can't wait to find out if the relay went or the fan motor itself toasted???
Anyone had any simalar issues with their fan?

Matt

I cleaned my bikes yesterday?
BTW, Indy... we have the exact same oil filter. (except mine is on my Magna....lol) Dam sharp looking filter, tho.

And Matt.... that fan issue is somewhat common. Usually not the fan itself, but the relay/temp sender. You can hardwire the fan real quick to see if it's the fan itself, and if the fan is ok you can either replace the control or wire it into a manual switch that will allow you to run it whenever you like. (many people do this)

this is on saturday, but close enough...

i got around to taking the carbs back off to rejet the bike. i put the stock size pilot jets back in as well as the stock needle. i am still running the dynojet stg. 2 jet for the main which ends up being something like a 124 keihin jet.

the bike runs absolutely amazing now. my AFR sticks around 13.5 when im WOT, which is where i had it before. it also bounces between 14.5-15.5 when im cruising so i'm finally going to get some okay gas mileage. also, with it not going really rich when rolling into the throttle the motor just sounds healthier and you can hear the intake noise a lot more instead of a hissing/spraying when it was pulling too much fuel. the only thing im not sure i like is that it idles off the gauge, which is 17.0+ AFR. i don't think its bad for it to idle that low, but it seems to run choppy down low because of it being lean. the way ive been remedying this is riding in a lower gear to keep the RPMs up around 3k.

also moved around the power supply for my HIDs so that i could turn lock to lock with the handlebars again, but that was easy.

ordered keys for both bikes from Ebay ......... anyone needing extra keys done
try 1stship Bill Taylor --- the specific blanks used .......... I used 88-00 goldwing
blanks "R" type (groove to the right the ** 1 inch versions ** ) he cuts them to order
if you have your codes which are on most keys eg B45 or B46 or whatever
( Not my actual codes but close).
23 bucks for 2 keys , one for each bike cut to different codes .

Let ya know how this goes ....... should be here tomorrow

Remember seeing some people on here looking for keys and info !
