Great news Sam! Check all connectors and wires for overheating (melted insulation or dark burned color). This usually means a bad/corroded connection to the Reg/Rec. My older 93 900RR had the same problem, and melted the block connector to the regulator from corrosion on them. Had to cut back old wire ends and install new connectors. Good luck on first ride.

Let's see.

I ordered a whole bunch of crap for it.

New Michelin for the front -DONE
New Zero Gravity smoked wind screen
New front brake lever
New hydraulic lines
New brake pads
New chain and sprockets - DONE
New battery. - DONE
New Rick's R/R - DONE
New plugs - DONE
New exhaust manifold gaskets

First shipment tracked to arrive tomorrow

I've already taken care of the fluids

Don't have the time nor the shop space to rebuild my forks. I'm taking my new rubber to Crazy Larry the Goldwing guru for mounting. I'll ask for a quote on the forks when I take the tire in. I'll also ask if I can supply the parts.

I got my primary coolant leak solved but went further and dismantled the entire system. Now I'm playing like the little Dutch boy trying deal with all the little one's that have sprung up. Probably re-do the whole thing and get a can of Eastwood's Radiator black to spruce up the radiator as well

Waiting to hear back from Corbin on a bid to restore my saddle.

The bike will still look like crap but I need to get her ready for the move up north

Painted the wheels b/c the white was really looking dated to me and i've been wanting to do this for some time: 5 coats of Metallic Dark Mist with 3+ coats of gloss on top. We'll see how it holds up but i like the new look!

New rubber: Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT. So far i'm in love with them: Smooth, predictable, extraordinarily grippy but have not ridden in the wet yet.

180 vs 170 rear: If you're still questioning the change, just do it. Not sure how much is attributable to the new PR4 vs the new tire size vs new purchase bias, but the bike handles better and curves/turns feel more stable and predictable to me.

Found this black tail on e*ay: Experimenting with a darker tail compared to the straight red that wasn't quite a match. Now I have the matching ColorRite Honda red and black on hand, just trying to decide how much of each to use. I think i might go with more black and use red as the accent this time around.

(BTW Added the Genmar risers last year)

Pardon the dirty bike!

Found a set of Supertrapp cans for it. Got them on last night but my son has the bike right now so I have not had a chance to ride it or get pictures yet. I will post pictures this weekend. Sure sounds better.

Fired the old girl up on Sunday . Took a fair amount of power to jump start, even though the battery was on a charger/minder . She idled nicely , checked the tyre pressure and adjusted as needed . Then I thought well what the hell , might as well take her fora quick spin too really wake her up . Didn't go far seeing as she's unregistered at the moment .
Still amazed by the power of the old girl , especially after riding the 650 V Strom for a while .
Must get off my **** and organize the club rego before the real riding weather gets here .

Hi Guys, I have a question. I filled up my tank completely for a long ride. I then went home to pick a few things then i found the bike pouring out petrol via one of the 2 drain tubes from the bottom of the tank. It stopped after a short while and this has not recurred. just wondering if i should be worried?

Hi Sam, this is probably due to a carb float valve sticking open or perhaps a bit of crud stuck under it which was eventually washed out by the flow of fuel. I've had this happen briefly before but as long as it stops and doesn't reoccur soon afterwards you're probably safe to keep riding without stripping the carbs down. An in line fuel filter is good piece of mind to keep things clean if you've got crap in the tank.
