Don't trust your 20 year old plastic coolant joints! Just spit a four foot geyser out the right side mid-fairing opening this evening. The ball shaped three-way joint below the thermostat blew out while sitting in traffic. Was on the opposite side of town from home. Tow it home tomorrow.

Maybe we can get a group rate. lol
I've been smelling coolant and can't find any leaks. Been thinking it's that joint.
Sad to say, I think the bikes up for winter, I'm working down south for a few months and will have to get to it in the spring.

I've been mainly riding my V Strom lately as the CBR has been un registered waiting for club rego . Pretty good weather today so I rode the V Strom to Shepparton to run some errands . Got home and parked next to old faithful , thought she probably should be started at least , fired up easy enough . I thought screw it ! Take her for a quick blast .
After riding the 650 V Strom , the bloody CBR is just insane !
I'd really forgotten how much pure grunt this old girl has

Mine reads a tad bit lower than my Fluke too. Might be a quirk of the Honda gauge.

While I waited for parts, (coolant joint) I popped the valve cover off and checked/adjusted the lash. Had a few ticker's that bugged me at every traffic light stop. Only the #1 intakes and one #2 Exhaust were wide, the rest were just fine. Can't believe what a difference in idle and overall pep a few .001" made.
