Glad to hear it's solved now Obsurfer, didn't want it left that way, not safe and discs could warp and they're not cheap

Good luck with the weather, the new season beckons

Henry, sounds like a scarey ride! Glad you got home safe and sound.

Got my Corbin "Gunfighter and Lady" seat back from a brand new full recover at Corbin. Had a seam pull out and a few distressed points on that saddle. Took them four weeks to turn it. Pop that back on and I think she's ready for the season. No big rides planned for brake-in this year...YET.

Default Oil

So last night after the correct placement of the "Foam Strip" (thanks Sprock) I noticed oil dripping from the oil pan. I pulled the lower fairing, sprayed the engine with degreaser, and then rinsed. Ran the bike, identified the leaking area and prepared to fix. Drained the oil, pulled the oil pan, cleaned the bottom of the engine and the pan. Installed a new gasket, a Bosch D3323, and gave it some fresh 10W-40. No leaks and a long ride planned today! Should be 60 here in Boston.

Wull I had all these grandiose plans to do all kinds of work on the bikes today

BUT

it hit 70f here , first time in what seems like a decade , so I dusted off the 93
wheeled her out, fired her up, lubed the chain, checked the front and rear tire pressure
( 5 lbs on the front - eek - 15 lbs on the rear ) Jeeeez was it a cold winter or what !

Anyhoo spent the whole damned day riding with a big cheesy grin on my mug.

Riding season has started "formally" in Maine , let the games begin.

For any Maine riders here , remember all motorcycle registrations now expire 3/31
every year - yup I had to register 4 bikes and a cage yesterday , there went the
beer money ! But there are sacrifices one has to be willing to make

I hear that Sprock, today was one of the first good riding days here too. Unfortunately I spent my day actually doing some of those grandiose plans to the bike and I didn't get any riding in.

I started by trucking the beast over to my buddy's shop up the street so he could weld something to my broken exhaust stud and back it out. Got that done before my second cup of coffee so I unloaded and started fitting my new Delkevic header (w/ new crush gaskets of course):

I also noticed that my port side oil line was severely pinched/kinked in two places (seemingly since I've owned the bike) which is pretty scary. Fortunately the parts bike had a mint one so you can see the shiny new piece in the above pic.

I fitted up my salvage stock '96 cans and threw on my spare tank so I could fire it up and test everything. Ran fine, wish the stockers were even more quiet but they are a little quieter than my old Yoshis. I had to re-drill the mounting holes on the cans, guess the '96 changed a little from the '90. I still have to finish my paint then do a oil change, coolant flush and cleaning before it's ready for riding. It also sounds like it really wants a cam chain but I think it needs a little tweaking first.

Default Cct

Well it's finally done
The dreaded CCT has been fitted . The sheer brilliance of an old in line four without a cam chain rattle is music to my ears .
