Conrice's 954 FIGHTER build thread
New stance.

Excuse the mess!
I drilled some holes in the 929 triangles to play around with the geometry a bit. I raised it back up to where I'm on the ***** of my feet (I'm 6'). I have the adjustable dog-bone on finally, and now I have absolutely full range of motion for the shock.
I have a 1/4in thick, 12x12 inch sheet of 6075 on the way to cut the new triangles out of. Also, I have a 2x2.5x12 inch block of billet 6075 coming for the front/top mount of the subframe. Basically, I'm going to cut into 2 pieces 6inches long. From there I'll build my mount for the subframe out of a 2x4 piece of wood. Once I have it built and ground down, I'm going to take the wood model and the billet to a friend that does metal work and has a lathe. Then I'll have the subframe completely mounted.
That's probably all I will accomplish before the move at the end of July (back to FL). I tried to braze the 954 gas tank mount onto the gixxer tank, but I was unsuccessful. I sold my O/A rig a few months ago. So my father-in-law sent me this "turbo" MAPP gas tip. We thought it'd be able to get enough heat to do it up, but I never was able to get a good braze, so it'll have to wait until I have access to an O/A set up in FL. It sucks when you spend a whole day doing work only to have it be a total waste.

If you're in SoFla, or SW FL - it sucks - doubly so for motorcyclists. There's not many fun places to go unless they're beach oriented, and that means crowded areas and outdoorsy stuff (so gear becomes an issue). It's nothing but sprawl. Everyone is upset when snowbirds are crowding the area, yet depressed when it's out of season because so many people are out of work (and no one has any money).
However, we *may* (and it really is a slim possibility) get back to my wife's and my old stomping ground, north west FL. There's good riding to be had there, especially being within 20-30 min of GA and AL. Lots of good back roads with elevation and curves with minimal traffic - the exact opposite of SWFL. And with the HUGE amounts of military in the area (Tindle, Eglin, and a lot of other bases), there's lots of motorcycles, which is good for me as I like to flip bikes.
Anyways, there's some hope.
Not much progress on the bike, but hopefully in a week or so, I'll have something cool to show you guys. I did get in a 12x12 sheet of 8mm 6075, as well as a 2x2.5x12 inch block of 6075 from OnlineMetals. And I'm trying to work out a deal with a guy on a few parts I need. We'll see!

...I know.
I can't stand it. My bike is buried beneath a bunch of other belongings of mine inside a storage center...
Hopefully though, I'm going to be able to get it to my family's house this week or the next and get back to working on it. We had some things change extremely last minute during our move, and thus - we're still in between homes.

It does! You have your bike on the road, and Sebastian and Toobroke are getting their's on the road - it's making me very envious. But, it's good motivation to get-a-move-on.
