conceal carry
I have my Concealed carry Permit and I carry a SIG Sauer .45ACP. I own 2 and plan on carry both when I get the left hand draw for my Miami Classic holster. I have been raised around guns all my life and view them as a tool also. It was my experience that whn I got my Concealed Carry Permit I ended up becoming even more of a pacifist than prior to carring. Realizing that I now possessed the tools to do a great more damage than previously and the consequences of my possible actions increased. I for one find no greater comfort in knowing that just because I have a small stature and could be viewed by some thug/criminal as an easy target that I am allowed to carry a tool to defend myself if neccessry rather than have to be a victim and wait for the police to show up ask me to fill out a report...if I am lucky enough to survive whatever a criminal decides to throw my way. I also take comfort in knowing I won't have to sit idly by and watch someone be a victim of any similar crime. I will have the option to act and the means to protect myself and those around me. Of course Responsibility play a huge role in the deciding factor when it comes to being either a proper gun carrying citizen or just another @-hole with a gun.
I have an S&W 642 that I intend to get my permit for. I have been talking about it for two years, however, so we will see if I ever do it
. In my opinion, the people who own guns legally respect them, teach their children to be careful and safe with them, and don't use them to hurt another person unless their lives are endangered. The people who we need to be concerned about are the ones who get their guns illegally.
Growing up with a father who is a gun nut (has a wicked safe full and reloads everything himself), I can remember learning to respect a firearm. Always act like it is loaded, never point it at ANYBODY even if it is empty, never place your finger on the trigger unless you intend to fire. I think these are the rules we learned from our parents and are the rules we are teaching our kids.
We have twenty-seven amendments to our constitution, and THE SECOND one gives us the right to bear arms (just after freedom of religion, press, expression). In my opinion...enough said.

And Jules ... ya know we loves ya but stop jacking this thread or we're gonna shoot
Jes kiddin ... but ya know, I worked with a British dude (he introduced us to crumpets, yummy!) and the stories of every other weapon in the world being used in London other than a gun was frightening. I mean according to him, they would take a big newspaper and wrap it very tightly and use that to hit people at soccer games. Not like swatting a fly but using the round end ... try it with a Sunday paper and you can f' somebody up. Damn, now I threadjacked[:@]
