What a pain, well done with that. Only changed the oil in my forks so didn't have to go through that...
Not looking forward to it as and when they need doing if you experience is anything to go by

I had leaking fork seals so had no choice unfortunately.

This is what one of the cartridge bolts looked like, no wonder it was a pain to remove. I don't know what the white stuff is but it was pretty hard. At first I thought it was "aged" loctite but now I'm not sure. I wouldn't think this is OEM so others will hopefully have an easier time of it.

Yes, both bolts cleaned up nicely and the threads in the cartridge look intact.
