i see that everyone says that you will get used to it but i think better do what you think is right and don't be sorry later. i'm 6'3 and my bike is lowered 1''(i bought it like that) i wouldn't do it but don't want to waste money to lift it back up. i have slipped sooo many times by stop lights, never felt down just because i have a lot better grip with my feet on the ground.

Here is why I am suggesting not to do it unless guys are really short like me.

Here is the ground clearance and how much space you get between pipe and tire / hugger with 2 inch lowered. I am not paper light but I am lighter than most guys. I am not able to bounce up and down with my feet down and when I get on my bike, the suspension doesn't even move. Yet I did manage to let pipe touch the hugger.

If you are heavier than me, the rear suspension will go down so your pipe is much closer to the hugger than in this pic. I think it might be ok if you weight up to 120 lb on this.

Also handle bar is very close to the fairings.

I lowered it before I started riding, so I am used to with this. But I would think it will be very uncomfortable for guys with bigger hands

Good info! but if he is going to lower just the back only 1'' front doesn't even have to be lowered. if you're going to lower 2'' or more front has to go down..

well everyone says you have to do front too but 1'' you won't even feel too much of the difference. my bike and my gf's are lovered 1'' and 1.5'' and both of our bike fronts are not dropped and they handle perfectly fine but if you would go lover that that i would lover front too.

p.s. everyone says DO NOT LOVER THE BIKE it will be bad and blah blah blah... i do understand if you are professional driver driving on track i will be diff. but for daily driving just go with whatever is most comfortable for you. be safe that be sorry later when your foot slips and you'll scrape your whole side of the bike......

Im only 5'1''. Take a look at my video of my gsxr and cbr. I lowered the both with a custom lowering link and it wasn't too expensive. hope this helps.YouTube - Jonathan Horton 2011 GSXR 600 and 2008 CBR 600

Damn, I wish I had this problem. I am 6' 5" @ 180lbs. I was so damn tall that I couldn't comfortably fit on the 600's. The mid fairings always came too far back and hit my knees, so I had to go with a 1000rr because it doesn't give me that problem. Maybe one of the newer models have changed their fairing design to accommodate me. love to get on a 600!
