Default Am I too short?

I am considering purchasing a 1997 cbr1100xx. I am 5'5. My only concern is the bike is an hour and half away and I don't want to drive there and find out I am too short. I will need to drive it home. I don't necessarily be flat foot, but I need to be able to touch. Thanks in advance. Dave

I'm 5'9 and have a 6mm shim over the rear shock to raise the rear by about 25mm.

I can just about flat foot when solo and completely flat foot when carrying a pillion.

If you like the bike - go for it - you can get lowering brackets for the back, the forks can be pushed through the yokes and there are various lowered seats available.

I was going to say if you go and get the Bird and you don't like it, you could always give it to me.

Great - glad you like it.

Thats what I like about mine - silky smooth turbine motor - nice handling and comfy riding position.

Warp drive at 7k on the tacho is superb.

I ride to work at 6 am on a nice deserted highway . . . it's such a nice way to start the day, turning onto the highway and gunning it through the first couple gears. Shift out of 2nd at around 160 kph and then coast down to cruising speed
