I finally replaced the CCT. It seemed to be working but sometimes I got this weird noise and today I haven't heard it once. On the other hand I feel a quite heavy knock at some RPMs but I think it has to do more with the clutch friction plates since it's most frequent in neutral and idle with the clutch lever out. If I pull it in the knocks more or less disappear.

hey migge have you checked your sync on the carbs? sometimes the clutch basket will have a knock at idle and lower rpm when the sync is out..

No, that's the next thing I'll do. Mattson gave me a good write-up of his procedure that I'll try to get as a sticky. Thought I should try it first since I have already bought one of those synch-things. 'Cause I'm pretty sure I'm out of sync too due to a lot of tinkering with airflow and such .

Thanks, Squale!

https://maps.google.fi/maps?ll=61.88...classic&dg=opt

Made final tweaks to the route tomorrow. Still gonna wipe the bike and the helmet today, tried making an itin..init... route plan to the navigator but apparently I can`t so printed out the map and wrote down the key intersections to tap on the navi. 413 km, longest day trip I`ve done since the Estonian weekend last summer, and second longest ever. Gonna take a camera with me so pics to come if I find something worth photoing, mostly rural forest roads although the whole route should be paved.

I'm now a Cycle Gear supported racer, so I branded the bike with Cycle Gear/Cycle Gear Racing logos.
