I appreciate it. I stopped working on her for a bit to ride her before the season got away. Finally got back to working.

Where the iron bar was, they threw away the bearings and bolt for the dogbone. I found it would be economical to order the link from a used bike, giving me the link all bolts bearings and dust seal versus individual parts. Those bearings alone are like twenty something a piece and I need two.

Back to work this weekend... more to come

Well finally got the damn bar out. Now I gotta clean it up some more, and order the bearings and bolts so I can remount the new lowering link. Snapped a couple pics of what I was dealing with..... fun stuff. I'm seriously wondering how i was lucky enough to not have a rear tire ride up my back.

This is the "dogbone" just your average piece of one inch square tubing. you can see where it was welded into the lower mount. Yeah, only half of one sde was still holding. I literally pulled it out with just my hand after removing my swingarm.

The lower mount where the bar was welded in. Gotta grind it back down flush.

Well boys and girls, thats all for now.... as usual, comments, questions, glaringly obvious observations I have missed are welcome and appreciated

I cant imagine who had the idea of welding that thing to the swingarm, goodluck with the grinding, I hate grinding or sanding! haha Hows the body coming along?

Ha the body, well I have everything but the lowers, so its kind of stalled. Cant really find any lowers that are in good enough condition to justify the cost. I mean 80 a piece with shipping... hell might as well throw another 150 with it and get the whole kit aftermarket. Then I wouldnt have to mess with the fiberglass.... The front has to come back some anyway, so once it gets too cold to ride, which in south east georgia isnt really happening, I plan to go back through her and redo alot. Paint and what not.

where are you looking for the fairings, I just checked last night on ebay and theres one with no cracks, just scratches, I guess the bike was dropped, for $30 shipped, its a red one, right side. I need to replace mine because the exhaust made a hole on the fairing, I might need to header wrap the whole thing.

I'll have to check. Haven't checked in awhile to be honest. You might need to header wrap. Although if you decide to go with the RR swingarm, that opens enough clearance to run an undertail.

Yea, though it made the burn right before I purchased the left bottom fairing, so now that ai have both bolted up, it got a different angle, it might not burn it anymore, but I'll have to check it out later on. I dont know about going undertail exhaust, althouh I am curious to hear how it sounds in an f2.
