Default check out the rack on this .....lol

Well started into making the rack today .....here's a dry fit using two rear
grab handle bolt holes ..........more work to be done welding in some
bar stock for more support and to stop any flexion once the topbox goes on.

Think this will do just fine, when I 'm done 3 bolts and the whole thing comes
off so I'm not stuck riding around with a rack always.

Be nice when it's all done and painted black , be able to use it on either bike.

Done in a bench vice by hand with 285 lbs of leverage & a stubborn attitude
Guess I watched way too many Yuri Geller shows !

Hey Sprock, that rack project is lookin good. I tell ya Malbo is so beside himself looking at your work he just had to go out and work on his bike in the motel parking lot. He removed his VFR bars, swapped them side to side. Installed all the switchgear and then swapped it back. Oh yea, in the dark and used only a screwdriver and a vicegrip pliers.

Ha ha thanks man, ya thought that would get his creativity going ....LOL

That Malbo is a mind reader ...... been looking at vfr bars (90 - 97) all day and
plan on doing the same over the winter.

Hey since when did Malbo start worrying about scratchin' the paintwork ???

Bribe him to tell me where he got those grip guards ?

BTW Jim

anyone ever tell you how good you look in mirrors ! hee hee

Bordo is the only other person I seen doing that !

According to Trout it's a very ghey practice ya know taking pics
of oneself like that .....lol

Post finishing up the rack

finishing up the rack - painting it today - mounting it soon
Got my hands on a second (NIB) black grab rail so the rack will
now stay mounted to (a) grab rail permanently so mounting it
to either bike just means swapping out the grab rails (4 bolts)
and the seat lock (one + screw/bolt) about 2 minutes.

PIC's later

edit : finished and all pics in Malbo's somebody stop me thread
