Great job there, Mark.
You could just bungy cord the beer on your pillion seat (ask me how I know) but the rack looks more professional, for sure.
I use my box all the time, esp for carrying work papers. Love going to work on the bike !
I only fit the side boxes on when I'm going long distance and staying out all night. Amazing what you can carry if you pack it right.
A few extra pics would be great and we can put up a complete post in the "how to" section.............

Thanks and hey yeah it was great to see Robo post up in that weather thread. Welcome
back Robo ....hope he drops by the avagoyamugs so we can break some chairs in
our usual friendly fashion .

Pete , pretty much dumped all the pics on this into Malbo's "somebody stop me" thread
S'pose it could be a how to in a way although think I'd call it "how to save 150 bucks
making your own rack" lol..... anyhow taking it (the rack) apart today ...want to paint
the Givi hardware underneath it and go with some shorter bolt under there too ....looks
a bit gnarly with 4 silver bolts and silver brackets under there ......plus I'm all outta
refreshments ......so the new rack rig gets a try out at max capacity

As I suspected, my nervous speedo was the plastic joint at the countersprocket. I had spared one when I got the bike, thanks to advice from this forum, replaced and problem solved.

Black and Red 93 got
96 VFR 750 bars (bit of a pain in the neck with brake + throttle cables being reorganised)
but done, nice new shorty (pazzo knockoffs) added too

ergonomically speaking .......makes a heck of a difference pics later when paint finishes
drying on the bar weights

According to Trout it's a very ghey practice ya know taking pics
of oneself like that .....lol
Whoa, I never said that. I just said it was ghey when you notice some dude in the mirrors and then comment on how good looking they are. (ahem)

anyhow taking it (the rack) apart today ...want to paint
the Givi hardware underneath it and go with some shorter bolt under there too ....looks
a bit gnarly with 4 silver bolts and silver brackets under there
Man, you should "clean" it up real good have it powder coated black!.... maybe even find some black finished bolts at lowes? I know you could get black cap head bolts that may look nice.
Just a thought. I know most places won't charge much for a coat on small parts if you have a guy locally.
It does look good, tho. Never expected that from you. LOL...

Boat shops have different color plastic "covers" for screw/bolt heads here - gives a nice clean finish - just a thought.

Default finished

Thx Pete but ended up using these

SO

clocked up 250 miles today..... with new vfr bars installed with old bar weights
if I make this bike anymore comfy I might fall asleep riding !

All I can say is ....it's a mod worth doing ....but it does push my elbows
out a bit ......which means mirrors are a bit harder to use ......overall
though a good bit more comfortable 'specially on the wrists.

New knockoff levers are slicker that **** ....love that snap snap quick changing

here's a pic

What are those silver things coming out of your bar weights. Did you put frame sliders on your bike too.
