Know the feeling well Sprock!
Welcome home.
Joy and I are hoping to get on the CBR1000F for a short spin in the early Spring weather today. Out to dinner tonight with my Parents and beautiful Daughter
Oh! And I hope all the Dads on the forum have a great Father's Day Sunday
Cheers, SB

Well, I finally installed my new electrex reg/rectifier.You have to (on the 93 1000F ) remove the grab rail then slide the entire tail section back to get to the rectifier. It comes with the male end done, but we all know that you have to cut off the original and install the one sent with the electrex. Seemed easy enough but when I finished that end, I found that i had too much wire in the female side and had soldered them to be sure instead of just crimping. Between having too much wire and the solder, the female ends would not push and lock into the plastic connector.
I was already frustrated as my old soldering iron would not heat and had to run over to Sears to get another, delaying what should have been a 30 minute job.I tried to use my little file to remove the excess wire and solder but that wasn't working.
Sooooo, I said ok clipped both ends of the wires and hard wired the thing in.I did use heat shrink then electrical tape over the wires individually then wrapped the whole job neatly in electrical tape. Put everything back together and checked voltages at the battery. 12 volts with nothing on. Ignition on took that to 11. Started right up and maintained 12+ volts at idle-about 1100 rpm. 14+ V at 1500up to about 3k. Then I stopped as it was late and I want to keep my neighbors friendly.
I wanted it done as I had had to refill my battery a couple times. Been a week now and the battery has stayed full even with slow traffic and hot weather. Didn't like the hard wire solution, but this seems to have worked as described for charging at low rpm. I think it even starts quicker ! Thanx for all the advice posted on this !!

Glad it all worked out for you Grendl. They are great units - been running mine for years now.
And thanks for the Father's day wishes. My younger son called me from Ozztralia, so I'm a happy old bugger, too right...
Planning a 300 miler with my mate on his Panigale today (it's 05 45 now) We'll see if he can walk afterwards....gawd what a terrible seat !!!!!
Welcome back Sprock. Your absence was noted
Has anyone heard from HenryM ? - not a peep in weeks. Hope he's OK.

Wooooooohoooooooooo - Finally!!
Well after quite a few weeks of moving/packing/building/trailering excessively busy days and late nights and with the start of Spring down under...............
The pull of the CBR1000F sitting on the front verandah became too much this morning and after our walk, I got her out, cleaned and polished her, checked oil and tyre pressures, fuel, lights etc, then
I RODE HER TO WORK
Boy am I a happy lad - just look at the grin beneath the helmet!!
Cheers, SB

Ha!! I knew someone would comment on that sentence, didn't expect it to be you Naga Lucky I didn't talk about how tight she felt on the ride into work then aren't I?
Second reason for cleaning 'the bike' (it's just such an impersonal title), is that we are expecting an interstate visitor on HIS bike this week? Next week?
Let me know mate! Got some great honey mead for you to try, not to mention the Chateau Dorrien Chocolatine Port - very, very yummy!
Cheers, SB
