What have you done to your CBR 1000f today?
Looking good man - so the color schemes going to be RED / BLACK ?
Today I pulled the forks off the 87 - hopefully this weekend - fork seal job
got some good advice from a Guy on the whole process ^^^^^
and the loan of a handy dandy seal driving tool
Might even make a How To : on it.

Just got back from our trip to Land Between the Lakes Kentucky. Was supposed to be a 450 mile round trip, but the bridge was out over Kentucky Lake which meant an 80 mile detour!
Main reason we went was to hit the antique shops in Cadiz, but the detour got us in too late and the shops were all closed.
Was a great ride anyway.

Had a "great" day dealing with these - actually it was not too bad
but one of the chrome tubes is a "borderline" with a small pit/ding
to it ( P/O was overzealous with a screwdriver)
Thanks to PMCG for good tips and seal driver loaner
.... good helpful
members we have here !

Reassembled with new bushings and seals driven in + dust caps - waiting for oil and springs
and some custom top of spring spacers I'm making so it'll be a lot stiffer . IMO it can be said
that most all the Hurricanes are a bit too soft and squishy on the front end taking a big nose
dive even under only moderate braking !

Hey Mark, let me know your method for getting those springs back in the tubes. The rest of the job I found easy, but those springs were a bitch to get compressed and the little washer thingy under the top nut. I'd be interested to know if there's a trick to it
Brute force and ignorance - with maybe a shot or two of Bourbon
Plus I'm adding longer spacers at the top of the springs - which will make
the whole deal a hell of a lot more interesting

it's getting jacked up with this LINK as it was almost a tip over event getting
the tubes out
Ha ha ha...did you overlook the hand-from-god ratchet strap on the upper tree or are you just being kind?
-- ya copped that eh ! lolwhere's my de-link brackets ?
