Aye aye Cap'n - an East Coast run would be a good idea - maybe be make a thread
in road trips for it P.
Anyway back to the carb thing and diff gen's ......imo
each consecutive gen of carbs breathe slightly better and so by default
are progressively smoother running
The gen2 carbs I put on my 87 make the bike run a whole lot smoother
than the original carbs. I 'm sure I could mod either a gen1 or 2 bike
to take gen 3 carbs if I too, intake tubes and airbox being the only real
mods to be made for the latter

Ha Ha . Seems I have the same problem after the bike has stood since last summer!
So , do you recommend checking the air/pilot screw?
Last year I fitted a Kn air filter (Ebay item no. 290745906884 )
and cleaned all the jets ( 120 and 38 ) and the float valve filter etc . The Bike ran and idled ok then , but not today .
Starts on choke and dies as soon as I open the throtle. I'm in the midle of cleaning the jets again as I found petrol (gas) deposits on the needles. They aint that bad but next time I'm going to drain the carbs before storing the CBR away for winter.
One thing, when the bike ran she didn't seem to want cruise well . Just felt something was holding it back. Unless it was pulling hard , like a quick overtake up a steephill. So I wondering if I need to rejet ?
Cheers
