Default Possible Exhaust Leak

Good Evening All,

I have the Jardine Dual Outlet Exhaust and believe I have a slight exhaust leak where the s-pipe conects to the header. I positioned the s-pipe all the way down on the header pipe stop ring and made sure the clamp covered the connection. Itightened the clamp as much as possible but am afraid to keep going for fear of the clamp screw breaking. The folks at Jardine said the carbon should seal any minor leaks after the first 100 miles or so, but ithas not happened as of yet. Has anyone else had an issue with this exhaust, or maybe have suggestions on how Imay fix it?Thanks for any assistance.

Thanks,
Sprout

if you suspect a leak then use some RTV high temp sealant at the joints.

I’ve only done exhaust on my dirt bike. The instructions said to use a high temp sealant. I thought you always had to use it when doing an exhaust?

you should use it just in case but most don't use it unless it leaks. the fit on some of the pipes are just amazing! but the cheaper stuff still fit crappy.
