well. I finally done it! yesterday I went and got all the paperwork done and went up to the owners work and got the bike key off his key chain out of his car! lol, should have seen the ppl staring at me wondering what I was doing. the guy is a friend of mine and just told me to go get the key. After that I had my buddy drop me off where the bike was. It took for ever setting up insurance bc they wound up screwing me another 40 dollars a month after they ran my record. But afterwards It was just me and the bike. backed her up and took her home! mind you this was only the second time I've rode a sport bike! lol. and I must say I done quite well. Never stalled it and done completely fine riding it home.

last night I met up with my buddy at his place and him and I took our bikes out and rode thru some back rodes that had a few decent turns in them. first real ride on the bike and I done pretty well! I'm definitely in love with riding motorcycles now!

Just don't go over your head. Just because you didn't stall it and feel comfortable don't get to comfortable. I have always felt if people who modded sports cars before go on a bike they understand power a bit better than a person who doesn't have previous experience with power but again that doesn't mean it wont haunt you.

thx man! I agree. I'm being very level headed about everything. I did manage to kill it a few times thru out the day today, pulling away from stop lights and such. Kinda embarrasing, but oh well, it's going to happen then tonight leaving Target I killed it right in front of two really good lookin girls lol! they looked at me and snickered, but I just laughed it off and went and pulled up to my buddy with that interceptor. after he got off work we pretty much rode around together all day. needless to say my back and shoulders are feeling pretty sore!

Ya it will take time. Best thing you can do is get use to it. I would just stay on side roads with slower speeds and get use to the start and stopping so you don't even have to think about it. It will be come natural just like a stick shift in a car with muscle memory taking place. Find that friction zone were you start to figure out when that clutch engages and disengages. If you get a chance sign up for a MSF class since they will teach you more in a weekend then you'll learn in two months. Good job and enjoy riding. Eventually some days I feel like now I might kick the bike and say goodbye to it.

If the shop my bikes at gets done with it today I'll ride it home as is with no plates or insurance, less than 5 miles from my home, and only cause I don't feel like renting a trailer or getting my friends truck then killing my back getting it on and off it, will post up later if I do bring it home today.

I took the MSF course and got my license before I ever touched a motorcycle. A week later, I picked up my F4i and probably put 80 miles on it riding with friends and eventually home (the bike itself was picked up about 25 miles from my house at the time). I don't recommend anyone spend tons of time on a bike without proper instruction (and your friend in a parking lot doesn't count, unless your friend is an MSF instruction). But even if you do, confidence is the difference maker. If you're second guessing yourself, you shouldn't be riding a lot yet.

been riding like crazy these past few days that have had no rain. Man I'm loving it tho. I'm definitely getting better. reset my clutch position tho and fixed the play in the throttle as well. still getting used to where the clutch grabs now but its set back a little farther and isn't right at the bottom of the squeeze. I know I need to get in that class bad. right now I can't be spending a whole lot of money tho. I had to get a rear tire and I'm getting a front tire Tuesday. then I'm gonna have to pay to tag and register the darn thing
