when passing a scooter
I still wave to them, even if I don't get one back. Its not like I lost anything.
Here we don't have any of those stupid laws that say you don't need a licence to ride a scooter. So really they're just like us, only smaller. 50cc or 500, doesn't matter - licenced and registered. Lots of my friends own them - I even had a 50cc one myself, but I was too embarrassed to ride it on the street - and I mentor a group of newbies. A lot of them are on scooters, as are two of the other mentors.
But then there is the local scooter club. Some of them are like Harley riders - its bad for their image if they wave to someone on a real bike.

agreed... but what really pisses me off is the harley guys out there that refuse to wave to street bikes because they are big headed or feel as though were just a bunch of punks with wanna-be bikes.... that irks me off
Your right, when I bought my wife her ninja 250 to start on, as I was driving it home for her a guy on a harley tryed to make fun of me and that was the worst mistake he could have made. Even the little ninja kick its butt. I was the one with the last laugh. Johnny
Cant say i've ever come up on a scooter, lol not alot of em in my part of town, a ton of harleys though, i like when the guys kinda giving me the eye and the lady on the back waves, i actually feel bad when i cant wave, like today was turning into the neighborhood and had just pulled in the clutch and a guy on a electra glide heading the other wave dropped his hand, granted he probably understands, but i still felt like a ***
I live in an area where it is just saturated with Harleys...but ironically, if I wave...they all wave back. 2 wheels is 2 wheels. I guess in some areas....some HD riders have yet to grow up.
