I went to the doctor today and took care of some other business and it was so hoping he was going to let me at least start some kind of workout it is just part of my daily routine and it throws me all out of whack not being able to get it in, besides there's something that none of us have even brought up here yet the therapeutic benefits of a physical workout it helps relieve stress and relax the body

ive just started working out after a torn rotator cuff about 3.5 years to get it back right again. i love working out at the gym. lifting three days in the am and racket ball two days in the evening. just started on the protien shakes so im working in my own gases (maby people will leave me alone now). hey hardcorp i thought it was 1 gram of protein for every pound. im taking about 175 grams of protien at about 35 grams at a time. since the body can only absorbe 30-50 grams at a time the rest just turns to wast and works your kidneys. anyway correct me if im wrong please ive been trying to find info latly about protien when you should take it. how much, and if it increases your cholesterol.

read several different articles and seen several different pieces on the whole subject and not everyone is in agreement. But here are some generally accepted facts of courses it no great secret. You actually build muscle mass while at rest after the workout the body system has been shocked into believing it needs more muscle to handle its new tasks so therefore most growth comes when your body is at its most rested point while you're asleep the added protein left your system supposedly at that time is converted into the basic building blocks of muscle tissue. And according to several experts, if you're going to use something like creatine or protein shakes. You should hit them right after a workout. Your muscles have used up their stored energy supply and are looking to replace it. Think of it as putting racing fuel in the tank instead of regular unleaded, and you're kind of on the right track. From what I understand about overworking the kidneys if you overwork your kidneys. They cry out for help and who responds the liver and one of the liver's main jobs is to help convert stored fat to energy have you ever noticed something about all these diets every one of them says drink about a gallon water Day the whole secret behind that is they want to make sure the liver is freed up to do its part about breaking down stored fat pick up a copy of Arnold Schwarzenegger's guide and encyclopedia to modern-day bodybuilding he's got a lot of good stuff in their and the one reason I'm recommending it to you. Is, there is a good section in the reference section that covers supplements vitamins, herbs and working out with injuries and working out after recovering from injuries there is a few good tips in there and remember Knowledge is Strength

My girlfriend has a fully furnished gym at her house, sooo...Being that I'm in the golf industry, I don't want to be "big and buff", just "toned". If you have too big of muscles then you're limited to what you can do (golfing).

You'll hear anything from 1g of protein per kilogram of bodyweight to an upwards of 2.5g/lb of bodyweight. The trick is finding out where you achieve optimal results while still allowing for the correct caloric intake. I personally stick to 1 to 1.5g/lb of bodyweight. While certainly your idea of 175g split into 35g/meal over the course of the day is much better than eating it all at once, the idea that the body is only able to absorb x amount at a certain time is a myth, a number cannot be placed on that. Also, a high protein diet will not damage the kidneys of a healthy individual.

As for the protein farts, try using Whey protein isolate instead of Whey protein concentrate. It's a bit more expensive, but if the gas bothers your s/o that much you may want to invest. Personally, I enjoy the gastric upset from protein shakes, nothing will bail you out of the mandatory post copulation cuddling like a room clearing protein fart. Failing that, try various digestive enzymes.

I've been lifting since I was about 14 (now almost 22)and I have done countless hours of research on power lifting. What I have learned from all the research, my own experience, and talking to tons of people is that the most important part to lifting is not doing too much and resting. The best routine for me is lifting for no more than one hour and no more than 5 times a week. You have to keep in mind that to build muscle you have to "hurt" the muscle you already have, and then give your body enough time and nutrition to rebuild it. If I lift more than an hour and more than 5 times a weekI would eventually experience overtraining, which sucks. If I had a penny for every person that came to me complaining that they aren't seeing any improvements even though they're lifting more than ever I'd probably have like 30 or 40 cents. I could see the difference in training techniques just from the lifting test for my football team. I probably spent the least time out of all the people who were serious about lifting, but I was by far the strongest. I'm only talking about powerlifting here though, bodybuilding on the other hand is different.

Now as for aerobic exercise... I suck at it and can never stay on a routine for more than a month. Thats why I stick to being a lineman.

I dunno how well it would work for everyone, but I've always believed that the best way to get all my nutrition is from food. I just ate healthy and a lot of healthy protein. Your body can use it easier in that form. Its really not to difficult to get enough protein from your diet. Besides, the extra protein you take in that your body doesn't use is just pissed or pooped out anyway. Just from eating a lot of chicken and stuff I was getting too much protein, well thats what my doctor said after I had a urine test. Supplements are for people that are at the very edge of natural human limits. The only people at that point are generally olympians, pro athletes, and bodybuilders. Supplements may help the average joe a little, but more likely then not they are just a waste. Except steroids, but no one should take for a bunch of other reasons anyway.

Oh that's just fantastic! That means I've only got about 2.5 years to go 'til I can lift again! [:@][:@][:@]
