Gym or Home ?
I have a decent home gym (smith, bike lat/fly machine) but I go to the gym. I kinda like leaving my house (I work at home) and it is kinda social at times. The gym I go to is fairly empty when I go.
I prefer working out at home. [ol][*]I'm too on and off when it comes to exercise...I could work out for 6 months straight and then get derailed.[*]Cheaper to have the equipment at home.[*]Hate dealing with other people's sweat[*]Hate dealing with rude people who are too impatient for you to finish. [/ol]I have a dumbell set, a machine, elliptical and treadmill. Oh and I am nowhere near, what you would consider, physically fit.
Oh when I work out it's usually 6 days a week.

Used to work out at home, had everything I needed too.. a bench, squat cage and 500lbs of weight. After I reached the point that 500lbs was no longer adequate for some movements, I realized it was only a matter of time before injuring myself by not having a spotter, or worse yet -- dropping weight and putting a crack in the foundation of the house. I opted for a gym membership at that point, and have had a few different ones over the past 3 years. Unfortuneatly, most gyms have gone the way of planet fatness and no longer allow my kind.
The local gym I used to frequent starts stinking around May. From 300 feet away from the building, it reeks of sweat. I couldn't stand going there at 5am and still having to fight people for machines so I work out at home. It smells better here anyways.
I work out at home, it takes less time to just change into a set of gym clothes, and go out and run 3 miles around my subdivision than to go all the way to the base to use the gym.
Going to a gym does have its advantages though, especially if you work out with a group.
