Dammit! I'm still mad at myself for not spinning up the rear wheel when it started to slide around on me. I knew to do it, knew how to do it, but I didn't. I might have been able to save it. Oh well, live and learn.
Anyway, here's a few nasty pics of my leg and foot 10 days later. Leg feels like it's on fire! Ankle doesn't hurt at all. I'm almost positive if I was wearing jeans and sneakers that I probably would've broken my ankle for sure, and rashed the living **** out of my knee and shin, possibly break that too. My neck is healing nicely though, so that's good. I'm kind of thinking I broke a rib though on my left side. It hurts like a **** sometimes. That's also near the pocket where I had my phone and iPod. They both still work so that's cool. The black and blue spots on my arms are just about gone. Went to the doc's the other day and she looked over everything and said I crushed all the nerves in my shin, causing the numbness. I forgot to mention my rib area hurting. Asked her for a prescription of vicodin for a few days worth and she gave me a script for like 90! So, I'll either get addicted to it or sell the rest for the new bike fund!
I swear though, I see these retards not wearing gear on a regular basis now. Especially the HD clowns. When I was at the dealer dumping off the bike I saw a guy pull in on his spotless '05 silver F4i wearing a helmet and jacket. No gloves, jeans and sneakers. I thought about becoming a gear **** at the time, but I'll let him figure it out the hard way.
Played around at another Honda dealer the other day. Toyed with a new '06 1000RR...was pretty tasty...except it was the blue/yellow. Still want to see the color options in person for the '07 1000. Also looked at the 600RR's which were nice too. Tomorrow am going to a Yamaha dealer to investigate the new R6, haven't sat on one yet. Mainly going to check out the R1 and hopefully they'll have the newly revamped '07 R1 that I can play with.

my hip did the same thing with the bruising...it lasted forever, even when the pain was gone...i just went to the doc the other day cause my ankle is still hurting pretty bad even though my wreck was a few months ago...anyway he said there is a torn ligament and it is still sprained. it hasnt had time to heal because im always on it without a brace. i got one fitted and it is pretty comfy now...just gotta stay off it and go to some therapy sessions. Sounds like your itching to ride darrell...i think youll be happier with a 1000 as long as you feel the need to ease back into riding. dont go all out cause they definately will stand up without warning...glad your healing up well

No question about it! I don't need all that power really, just want some bottom end power, unlike 600's. Either way though really, I like them both.

But yeah, I figured I'd do the write up and follow through of my ordeal to inform others to be careful out there and as a reminder of what can happen in an instant. I still can't get over the fact that I'm relatively ok after leaving the bike at approx. 70 mph.
One thing I do know for sure is when I start riding again, most likely over the winter, I'll have a whole new outlook on riding and I'll also be really gun shy in the corners for a very long time. Corners never even phased me before, just looked through them and followed through. Now I'll be paranoid about crap in the road right in the apex.

Yup...still am shy on the throttle through the turns, as sad as it sounds, i think a crash makes you a better rider, at least in my experience

OMFG Thank god you walked away!

That sucks!!!!

As I'm sure it was said above, you were very lucky. Sorry to hear all about it, but glad you're ok.
(and just after you installed your undertail too!)

Feel better soon!!
Thanks! Ironically enough, pretty much every part was vaporized except one fairing and the undertail. The undertail has a mark on it from who knows what, but it's in one piece and looking pretty good.
I know one thing for sure, I've got some serious withdrawl syndrome right now...been about 12 days I guess. I need a fix!! Need to ride asap!!
