Got a 2001 929rr.....as soon as i turn the key on, the 10A fuse blows for the meter assy. What would cause that?

Wow. I just checked the print, and it ain't pretty. The brown and black wire coming off the fuse is the culprit, but that damn thing goes to:

1. Speed sensor connector

2. The last connector before the turn signal switch, where the wire splits and goes to the turn signal switch AND the horn switch

3. Instrument cluster connector

4. The brake/tail/license plate light bulb sockets

If it was me, I'd disconnect the connectors I mentioned and put an ohmmeter on that brown/black wire at the fuse and look for a grounded reading. If there isn't one, the wiring harness is good, and then you'd have to start checking the individual components.

That ain't much help, is it. I'll shut up now...........

make sure you go and get yourself a box of 10A fuses...just in case you blow a few more while trying to troubleshoot the problem. hope you get lucky with your volt meter. electrical problems are always tricky to figure out...good luck.
