Default Intermittent electrical problems

I did some search on the forums for the problem I am having but did not find anything specific, so here it goes.

The speedometer on my 1997 drops to zero intermittently, as if there is a loose connection. I saw some postings that said to check the speed sensor which I will do in the morning daylight now. The other (maybe related) issue was that whenever I had the turn signal on, the bike showed signs of turning off, and I noticed the front headlights were flickering too. I made it back home, restarted the bike and the lights were fine. Maybe it is a loose connection playing havoc, but just wanted to post this to find out if the experts on this forum have some suggestions or if you have experienced this before....afraid of stalling on the highway!

Thanks in advance!

Most of those sound like a ground issue. I'd start there , ground at the battery, at the frame, terminals and cables.

BTW, just to close out this "old" discussion, it was a battery grounding issue, tightened up all the connections and everything was back to normal......thanks zaqwert6.
