Unhappy CBR Electrical Problems

Ok, so just recently this week I started running into serious electrical problems on my CBR. Basically what happens is when I turn the key on, the bikes instrument lights will flicker for a few moments then turn on fully. I have a brand spankin new battery on there. I turn on the high beams today and all the electricals die. The bike won't turn back on. I checked all the fuses, nothing. I have a serious head scratcher here

sounds like you should double check a few things.. battery and the connections. you said youre good there right? next i would check out your R/R or regular/rectifier. in most cases, if your battery is new like mine was, the charging system not being up to par is caused by a faulty R/R. most of the members on here have found that upgrading the factory crappy one is the best option for the newer fin style R/R's that perform much better.
if you do that and its still not working.. then your next step is remove the stator cover and see how that stator (alternator) is doing.
generally, if youre having all of a sudden electrical probs and you havent changed anything lately on the bike.. its one of these. go from least expensive and work your way up. hope this helps!

maybe battery ground cable?also you might look at the starter button, i had a problem with dirty contacts in it that made the headlite only work when i wiggled the button ..dont know why the power is routed thr there but cleaning the switch fixed it

Thanks everyone for all your help. After some time, I found that it was the ground cable that is near the rr. Turned out it was getting bad contact from when I repainted the whole frame.

Default never mind lol

Never mind, that wasn't the fix. The bike still runs into the same problems
I turn the igniton on, the lights turn on. Then I start the bike, it runs for like 3 seconds and it dies. The lights shut off and I get nothing for like 3 hours. OMG! Bad RR? Looks like the stock one from back in 92' *****
