RE: Anyone raced their RR Vs F4i?
Is a F4I faster than a RR? book answer no. on paper the RR is alot faster (oh and when your talking about motorcycles 10hp and 7 lbs is a big deal) But when racing it is all about the rider. I beat my brother's 1000rr on my 600rr to 100mph because he was trying to get his front tire back on the pavement (but he is a better rider and completely stomped my bike every other time we've raced) I agree that true motorcyle fun is cornering and that's where the RR really shines.
As far as the "great engine debate" goes, I never thought that they were the same engine. But I could be wrong. Are the head's interchangable? what about the crank, cam, pistons or valves? Can anyone produce Honda part numbers on the lower end for both bikes?( 06 models)And that article from woody states that they moved the crank the mainshaft and the counter shaft. If that's true you have two completely different engines. Changing the location of any one of those would change the block. If you would still call them that same engine after a change like that, then you might as well call the HEMI head the same head as a flathead just because they changed the placement of the valves and therefore reshaped the combustion chamber they are still the same. (before anybody says anything, chrysler also had a flat head engine not just ford.)

RE: Anyone raced their RR Vs F4i?
alright ladies and gentlemen, i'm making a judgement call. this thread has run way past it's point of usefullness. there are some good points and some funny arguments , but some feelings have been hurt and everything that could be said has already been posted. so i'm locking it up and throwing away the key! it can still be accessed by anyone wanting to know about the differences between the 600rr and the f4i, just no more posting.
