Very good to know! I need to do a little more digging into my cooling system, I suspect the fan relay isn't staying on as long as it should. It will come on but after riding around a bit it doesn't want to come back on or stay on. I did a little testing last night, got her all warmed up and heard the fan come on. I kept riding and couldn't really hear it in traffic. Pulled into my alley, did a quick burnout (I need new tires anyway! ) and then hit the killswitch leaving the ignition on. No fan and my temp gauge was past the middle. I plan to fix the problem the right way and put a manual switch on so I can kick the fan on when I want to.

Also, this wasn't today but Sunday:

Hit 30k miles! Still low for a '90. Too bad that means it's getting towards cct time though

I wouldn't worry about the fan unless it never turns on. We have had discussions on the subject. Seems that the fans come on just before the needle hits red, mine does.

Ride it and then let it sit at idle. Fan should come on at about 90% of needle range. Sounds stupid but that's how they work.

I guess that doesn't surprise me too much. Something's afoot though because I just got through a 30 min ride in 80 degree traffic and she was a handful. Kept creeping up to the 3/4 mark and then getting the little misfire at idle. I've had it die on me at idle when it get's hot, not today though. I think an over ride switch for the fan and some blue ice will help for the time being. It's gonna get a lot hotter around here before long!

Built the new subframe and mounted the seat. The seat is a 2007 R1.

I use an engraver to vibrate them in Sprock and the Dynabeads go in nicely. Anyway I put my new friction plates and and Barnett HD clutch springs in today and what a difference its made. I had some judder right before the clutch was fully disengaged and noticed it a lot taking off at traffic lights and taking off in general. That's now gone and the general feel of the new springs is great. I went off the how to that's on the site and it was perfect. Took me a couple of hours all up with a few interruptions. Just a small trick with getting the last friction plate out. I used the bent end of an old file to hook the plate out. It's rather difficult to get out without the aid of something. I found the file quite a good help there.

The how to was a very big help. It was amazing how easy the job actually was. It was also amazing how much better the bike feels with the correct tyre pressures........I won't embarrass myself with how bad they actually were......

fitted a battery/charge indicator to bike.
it also flashes once every two seconds when the ignition is turned off,
giving the impression of an alarm being fitted!
