Actually I'm seeing a silicone grommet on ebay in 1 1/4 OD , 5/8 id with a 1 1/16 lower
OD

Might serve as an actual plug

Going to measure the plug well diameters exactly to be sure

edit:

measured 1 1/4 " id for the plug "well"

1 1/2" for cap over part

I'm looking for one grommet to cut one side off to act as
a one piece cap/plug like oem

I was thinking of buying some of these to see if something could be made to fit nicely.

Are silicone so heat resistant and they ship everywhere for sensible prices.

pretty good idea there too, bohdan

Back to the wiring diag'.

TimBucTwo - your diagram uses a common negative off the second (old coil feed)
which is okay for Mk2 & MK3 coil setups as there is only one pulser down at the
crank !

With a MK 1 (87-88) with two pulsers - I'm going to guessing the wiring diag will
have to use both negatives ! Cylinders 1 & 4 wired in serial off their pair from the
old left coil, same for cylinders 3 & 4 off the pair from old right coil ! ?

Each pair on an old MK1 coil set would run back to individual pulsers right ?

What time is it at your house Sprock? Do you get up in the morning and hit the Forum as you down your first coffee?

PS: it's 10:15 on Tuesday evening at my house.

I'm always up at 5.30am and always right on the -'puter - it's what pays the bills
and I have to be sure all is 100% at the work end before all the troops arrive in to
"work" at 8.00am

Don't do the forum every am just sometimes - mostly when I know my workday is busy-ish.

Anyway I need to know TBT's opinion on the dual pulser wiring thoughts as I have to
wire up my 87 this weekend

Actually they run back to the ignition control module. I haven't looked at the MK1 wiring diagram but if you have two Bl/w wires (1 for ea. coil pack) and the ICM only has only one coming out of it, it splits out somewhere and they're the same.

Nope! still needs to be posted in "how to" section with pictures.

OR, "alternate" parts section.

The "how to" should also have a like to this thread however.
