Default ok valves i think

i got some ticking noise coming from the valves i pulled it a part and turned it over a few times and everything seems to be working properly and nice and snug but the noise comming from the valves sounds like they are sloppy or loose, suggestions??? should i just take her in and have them do a full tune up including checking the valves or you guys think its somthing i can pull off myself?

If you do it yourself, your going to need the service manual (Shadow will post a link), a set of feller gauges, and the Honda tool that it used to tighten the locknut while you hold the tappet adjuster. (It's a 10mm deep socket with a handle welded on it)

Also, depending on how many miles you have, you might want to consider replacing the valve cover gasket.

Don't really need the Honda tool. You can used a pair of locking pliers and a regular deep 10mm socket. Grind the sides of the socket down a bit so the plier can grab onto it and that's it!

You can definitely do it yourself. You'll do a much better job than some shop. You can do it in a day. IMO000 is right you don't need the tool, but it sure makes it nice.

Valves are easy. The tools are cheap & easy to modify. Depending on which year your bike is some are Allan key (socket head) adjusters & some use a small screwdriver. All use the same locknut. Have a look through the "search" function as there are how to's on the subject. Have fun.

Harbor Freight, Sears or any of the auto parts store will have the feeler gauges that you need.
