CCT or Valves or something else?
Bike is making a clacking noise. To me it seems to get louder the hotter the bike gets. At normal street cruise temperature, I can easily hear it through my helmet. As you'll hear in the video, it seems to fade when the RPMs raise. But that may be just my imagination

I haven't ruled out the oil. I have an oil leak at the water pump so it's probable the O-Ring failed. So small amounts of coolant could have leaked into the oil system, dropping the viscosity

When was the last time you checked your valve adjustment? sounds like that may be it, which would explain the temp. relation, oil gets thinner when warm so there is less "padding" between the cam and the valve. especially if your oil is low or contaminated. Just a thought.
Sounds like your valves to me, at idle your more prone to hear it (less engine noise). How long since the clearances where done? Is it more pronounced on the right side?, then it could be the CCT (the right side is where you were aiming at). Take off the left service cover & have a listen from there to. If it's just as pronounced, then Bob's your aunty & its the valves, more noise on the right, got to be the CCT.
Seems focused on the right. Left side I seem to really only hear the noise through the bike. I'll give it another listen tomorrow on the left side.
If the cct isn't giving enough tension on the camchain, the timing will be off on my bike correct? What would I notice while riding if so?

Sound is definitely focused on the right. I doubt it's valves or pistons. The sound comes and goes. Starts up as the bike warms up. Drops off as it reaches normal temp. Then kicks up as the engine temp hits about halfway.
Changed the o-ring /.seal on the water pump so I doubt the oil leak will return. BTW, if you have a Haynes manual, it skip's a vital step when removing the water pump: DRAIN THE OIL!
Removed the mounting bolts and gave the pump a good tug... Oil all over the driveway. Luckily I had planned on changing the oil anyways. Just not making such a huge mess
