Thanks. The local parts stores were a bust.

I'm thinking I'm going to go with the rheintacho one, because the dimensions are the same. Although, talking to dealers through email is tough too. We'll see....

damn, well it was worth a shot. I dislike talking to dealers about parts through the phone, let alone email. Let us know what they say, if they say.

Yeah, I think if maybe some more experienced people had been there, I would have had a better chance. I don't think they really understood what I was trying to do with it. Oh well, I'll figure it out.

The word "custom" makes people at my local shops change when they're talking to me. I've found that it's better to pretend that I don't know what I'm working on that say it's for something custom...

I did like that my Triumph Daytona/SpeedTriple got referred to as an Indian by an idiot at my local auto parts store

Haha youd think the parts stores would hire people with a little background instead they hire dumb a**es that think they know everything but couldn't replace a spark plug in a scoot lol.

You'd think. But I tell you what, there are a lot of people that don't know what the hell they're talking about there.

Luckily I knew, but this one time, I was there looking for lug nuts to go on my spacer, so they needed to be the "through" kind without a top on them. Anyways, they didn't have metric ones, so the guy took me over to the REGULAR nut and bolt section and told me I could use those... on my wheel... And when he didn't have those in metric, he tried telling me that I could use SAE because they convert over...

Not even close. I thanked him for helping me and went to a different store. I have no idea how that guy could have gotten a job thinking that you can use SAE bolts/nuts on metric threads, and that regular nuts are an okay alternative for lug nuts...

They don't really pay parts store people much so it's kinda a seriously slanted crap shoot. But sometimes you'll luck up and find that one person that will help you just out of curiosity to see what your doing....

True true. So I realized I only looked up cam sensors from the big 4....

... but what about, Ducati?

02 2002 Ducati Monster M 750 M750 Sensor Tach Tachometer Cam Position | eBay

2007 M800 M 800 Ducati Monster S2R Cam Knock Time Timing Sensor | eBay This one looks really close. I was comparing pictures between that and the 954, it looks pretty close, I may give it a try. We're talking under $20 shipped, so it may be worth the gamble.

And other obscure bikes. I've looked at BMWs, MV's, Triumphs, Ducs. It seems like all of the Euro brands use HALL sensors, instead of the magnetic.

I would definitely give the duc a shot. Only concern I would have is if its calibrated for a twin... If that's possible... Worth looking into though.... I'll dig around too and see what turns up. But for 20 bucks, hell I waste that a week buying mountain dew and coffee...
