RE: Cop pushes over bike!!
when I clicked the link I got a guy in a house with a garden hose and no motorcycle anywhere. I would like to comment but would like to see the video in question first. If someone gets the new web address please post it, this sounds like an interesting debate. Thanks for your time.

Hardly for no reason, I point out idiotic posts, replies and behavior. You happen to provide a lot of material.

RE: Cop pushes over bike!!
I have been out of town, sorry i havent replied at all. I see that the debatehas enlighted all of our minds and changed everyones opinions and now we are all respectable people who dont actually assume that we are automatically better then the person that just posted.
I now personally understand that because someone disagrees with thex that they are new to the world and have no relevance in semi-intelligent internet debate.
I dont really know what to say but it does sound likeroughly half and half. (by the way im counting people who are atleast trying to make complete sentences not the people that just say "f'ing pig" or the like). It does seem like most of us are trying (or already do) to understand why both the cop and the biker are wrong. I will wrap it up here, this discussion was about the fact that the cop unnessarily pushed over the bike. anyone who anyone should care about already knew the guy should not have run.
the other post about running that was sited was actually about how running can cause death and injury, which we already knew, and which is why everyone agreed in that thread.
i dunno...i could be way off base.

RE: Cop pushes over bike!!
I can see that many people are upset with this post. Without being able to view the same video my comments can only be limited. If the cop did push down the motorcycle for no reason it do not sound right to me. But let me ask this question has anyone here ever had to chase a suspect at high speeds and when the suspect finally stops a physical altercation ensues? While tring to restrain the suspect have you ever been throw into items and/or had other items get into the way as you were trying to restrain the suspect with the necessary force not to cause injury to yourself or the suspect. I have been in this situation before quite a few times, and NO I am not trying to defend the cop but maybe let people see thing from a different point of view. It sounds like the apprehension occurred next to or at least near the motorcycle. Like any other object when trying to restrain the suspect if its in the way or maybe in the way you ( the officer) move it. This would be the same for any other movable object or possible weapon such as chairs, brooms, garbage cans, and the list can go on. Like I said I have not seen this video but wish I did. I know that no matter what cops will always be wrong for doing thier jobs in most peoples eyes. Let me ask this question though. what if the video was of someone pushing down a cops motorcycle. I bet most posts would be something like " ha ha stupid pig now pick up you bike", or "take that pig for writing us tickets". I'm sure most of you get my point, at least I hope so. I honestly think that the direction of this thread would be dramitacally different if it was a police motorcycle pushed over by someone and not the other way around.
I am not trying to defend this video that I will again say that I have not seen, but just trying to shed a different light on the situation from a differnet prospective.
I've said this before and had some bad comments posted shortly thereafter, but there are bad cops out there we all know this. I wish people would not let the few ruin the image of the other good cops out there.
Any comments about my point of view are welcome.

RE: Cop pushes over bike!!
rtb, what happens in the video is a really long chase from a dash cam, which is not directly behind the bike until it pulls up to the stopped bike and a bike officer cuffing the supsect directly to the left of the bike (as if the rider dismounted and was taken down). i beleive another officer steps in to help from the car we were watching from, the bike cops stands up, watches the suspect for a second as officers are still 'struggling' with him, then the bike cop turns around, pushed the bike over from kickstand side with both hands and turns right back around towards the suspect. thats my best description of what happened, i am still waiting a reply from the news station about the video.
