LIke on the ZZR1100 it connects to a rubber hose and goes into air box.

Hi a few things are happening with my bike I'm hoping to get some advice and help so the first thing is when idling in neutral If i pull back on the throttle very quickly nothing happens the revs don't go up it just sounds flat and the other thing is its misfiring at idle are these two problems connected? Could it be air fuel mixture? Where do I begin to explore

It could be just needing a carb clean, if you can put up with it at the moment ,wait till winter and do it then. I take it wont backfire at higher rpm?
