Bear in mind ,the more you layer up,the more uncomfortable you become if "Bulked up".
Disposal surplus stores here[OZ] sell thinsulate Gloves,Balaklava's etc etc.The gloves are thin enough to wear inside your normal gloves.....& do a pretty good job.But when its a 2*c morning here,hey your gonna freeze anyway.
Balaklava= warm head,fogged up visor!

all this is good advice except the "don't do it" posts. Sissies. Layers, fleece, balaclava, grip heaters, electric vest...all great ideas that I use. My additional advice is make sure everything is tucked in by layers. All the thermal underwear in the world won't help if nothing is tucked in and cold air is getting in at your waist, ankles, and wrists.

Im not a sissy, its only 30 degrees here, but its not so much the cold, as the road conditions

The car wont go 2 feet in 1 inch of snow, let alone 8 inches.

This is a very good point. If your goal is to hit up the twisties, keep in mind that cold tires and a cold road mean a lot less grip, and that's even if you don't encounter any black ice. I ride any time the roads are clear, but I definitely dial it back a couple notches.
