getting ready for cold weather riding!!
down south here in Atlanta , Ga. got pretty cold this week 29 for a low and 59 for a high , the morning rides have been the coldest, what kind of gloves does everybody use in cold weather, ive been using some snowboarding gloves ,cheap first off , roomey on the inside for better control. Long underwear is a must and a fleece jacket under my leather jacket. My bike put off alot of heat in the summer but i cant seem to feel it latley, i guess the best thing is it wont overheat .what the coldest you guys ride on a daily basis? getting ready for winter riding!!

I recently picked up a pair of Teknic "Cyclone" motorcycle gloves. They probably aren't as warm as the gloves that you're using, but I have been pretty happy with them. It's been in the low 50's around here lately and that's about as cold as I will ride in.

I don't like Novembrrrrrrr ..... [:@]
You guys are really gutsy riding bikes in the snow. When the ice covers the streets, I don't trust my own riding ability that much at all, so I don't think I'll be riding much until spring arrives here in Sweden some time April maybe.

Winter is also comming to Denmark now, and the bike will be put away for the next couple of months. Then there is waiting a long winter in front of the computer looking for possible updates for the CBR, and of cause, reading others riding reports on this forum ;-)

The ONLY way I have found to keep warm is a pair of Gerbing heated gloves, with a small accessory attached to them (it's called a Gerbing heated jacket liner!!!).. I have bad circulation. No, I used to have bad circulation... now I just love riding in the cold weather!

I ride down to about 5 Deg C (40 F) but that is aboutthe lower limit if one does not like to suffer. I'm using a textile gear with inner jacket and pants, heated grips and cheap but very warm gloves (German Lidl bike winter gloves). The limiting factor is when theroads are freezing and I don’t ride more than about 30 km's at a time insuch low temperature. When the temperature is around 10 Deg C (50 F) there is almost no limit how long one can drive with this gearing.
The best temperature for riding very long distances seems to be around 15 Deg C (60 F), that is a good temperature to avoid being overheated oneself. The worst climate is like having 30 Deg C (85 F) and drive on a track that takes o lot of energy.
